DESCRIPTION OF EMBLEM
Quiz and Debate club’s emblem consists of many symbols and they have particular meanings.
• Colours used in the emblem are Golden Yellow and Red. Golden Yellow is the colour of gold, one of the precious and commonly using metals. In our context, golden yellow indicates the precious minds of children.
The red colour is the colour of blood. It indicates the energy and passion of our children.
• The emblem is divided into four equal parts and each part has its particular indications.
o The first part consists of an open book. It indicates the fields of art and literature.
o A globe is given in the second part. It indicates the society and our environment. It gives a message that we should be aware of the things happening around us and protect our nature.
o The third part has an atom model. This part reminds us science is a major branch of studies. Everything in this world is made up of atoms and they are the building blocks of all the objects. So atoms have a significant role.
o A caricature of two persons speaking to one another is given in the fourth part of the emblem. It symbolizes debate.
• In the middle of the emblem, school emblem is placed. It indicates that LFS is our mother and QDC is an integral part of LFS.
• At the bottom of the emblem, the motto of the club is given- Ad Lucem. It is a Latin phrase, means Towards Light. QDC aspires the mental growth of its members. This club work tirelessly to motivate our children to be enlightened.
AIM
Students will be enabled to be aware of their surroundings, current events and facts and to be equipped with rhetoric skills for appropriate communication and logical syllogism.
OBJECTIVES
1. The members of the club will be improved in their communication skills. Students will be motivated to think in a logical way.
2. The members will be motivated to think in a logical fashion.
3. The club members will be inspired to acquire rhetoric skills and logical syllogism.
4. The club members will be updated on current events and facts.
5. The club members will be enlighten the light of wisdom they got, to the society to which they belong.
STRATEGY
Little Flower High School, Kalwari is blessed with many intelligent minds. The QDC is working hard for the overall development of its members. The strategy of the club is:
1. To develop higher order thinking (HOT) of the club members in order to excel in ther rational capacity and skill through orientation sessions by eminent resource persons.
2. To examine and develop the general knowledge of the students of LFS, club members ask a GK question daily to students during the assembly.
3. Quiz competitions will be conducted for the club members to ignite their minds.
4. Debates are arranged to the members to excel their communication skills as well as thinking pattern.
5. Since the members live in a society, they have to be aware of the administrative system. For that purpose mock parliaments are to be conducted for the members.
6. QDC arranges seminars by experienced media persons to students to make them conscious of current trends in media.
7. Mock court is arranged by the club for the members to understand the functioning of Indian Judiciary.
ACTIVITIES
1. Daily initiation to the members to examine the knowledge of the students in current affairs.
2. Orientation sessions for the members once a year.
3. Monthly quiz competitions for the members.
4. Debates for club members every month on current affairs.
5. Mock parliament for the members once a year.
6. Seminar by a resource person on effective communication for the students of LFS once a year.
7. Mock court for the members once a year.
